Sedation Dentistry

Sometimes sedation or general anesthesia is indicated when a child needs an extensive amount of dental treatment or if his or her age or health situation prevents  cooperation in the dental chair. Growing Faces Pediatric Dentistry is blessed to to have the services of Drs. Yama and Zedie for those patients who require ambulatory anesthesia.

Dr. Asher Yama

 

Dr. Asher Yama is a graduate of Einstein College of Medicine and completed his residency at Montefiore Medical Center, in NY. In 2003 Dr. Yama founded Metro Anesthesia Consultants, specializing in ambulatory anesthesia at the University Surgicenter, a large multispecialty ambulatory facility, in E. Brunswick, NJ, where he also served as Medical Director.  Prior to that he was an Associate Prof. of Anesthesia at Robert Wood Johnson (now Rutgers) Medical School in New Brunswick, NJ, (1991-2003), where he trained residents in addition to performing clinical duties.  

Dr. Zedie

 

Dr. Zedie is a board certified pediatric, neonatal and general anesthesiologist.  She completed her residency at George Washington University Hospital and a Fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesia at National Children’s Hospital in Washington, DC.  She served on the clinical faculty of Robert Wood Johnson (Rutgers) Medical School from 1989-2002, before joining Dr. Yama at Metro Anesthesia in 2004.  Dr. Zedie has an international reputation for her dedication to providing anesthesia for pediatric dentistry, and was recently honored with a distinguished service award from Healing the Children, an organization that organizes volunteer surgical teams which travel to underserved villages to provide cleft lip and cleft palate surgery to children around the globe.

Drs. Yama and Zedie bring 50 years of combined experience to provide ambulatory anesthesia which is safe,

patient-centered and has been consistently rated high in patient satisfaction.
